I was super hopeful that Peachy's owner would request a commission when the quote rolled through, because she is just such a cute character and had a lot of nice details that would translate well to a plush! I knew she would be a ton of work with all the applique and details but it was totally worth it in the end. More info after the cut! It had been a little while since I'd done such an applique heavy plush. She was especially unique because of all her stripes which would have to line up over multiple seams. At first I tried to just pattern them over my paper pattern, but I gave up after about two hours and decided to make a test plush, which made things a lot easier. My client requested the same pattern as a previous plush of mine, Lolitamon, which made things easier! But I always make a test head anyway to line up embroidery. The client requested 3D claws instead of flat 2D ones like I've done in the past. I was happy to try it out, since I'd been wanting to design it, but a little nervous. I machine sew nearly everything I can, so this required putting 5 small darts in an already small pattern piece. But the addition of darts also made the hand have a nice shape as well! Her tail was pretty straightforward to pattern, despite its size. After it was all patterned, time for hours and hours of applique! I ended up having to redo pieces many times. One body side I accidentally cut into the white around her tail, and had to completely redo it. Then I tried a new stabilizer that was way too stiff, and when I washed it away, it permanently discolored the thread. So I had to redo I think 3 or 4 pieces :( For some reason, I really struggled to nail the shape of her ears. It went through many iterations. Eventually I got it, and we added tufts of fur to her ear tips, which I really love! Obligatory FLOP picture Finally, she had a couple custom clothing items to make. Patterning her jean shorts was pretty straightforward. I added tiny little pockets too! I tried to acid wash her jorts, but the bleach wouldn't change the denim even after leaving it sitting overnight! Craziness. We went back and forth on her hoodie a few times. To fit over the head, hoodies have to be quite large, but this can look weird from the back. Eventually we decided to go with the large hood but cut holes into it for her ears, which looks super cute! Peachy took about a month to make. And I'm happy with how she came out! You can watch a timelapse of her here!

Hey, she turned out really cute! Love the paws especially. I had a question if you don't mind me asking - what stabilizers did you end up using? I've been using sulky super solvy as a topping, but when I wash it away, it never leaves the minky quite as nice as before, do you have any experience with that? Thanks for any help
